Hi
I have a geforce 5900, 2ghz athlon, and 1.5gb ram, can anyone give me and idea of what performance I could expect in this game? I play on a CRT monitor so I can change the resolution but would like 1024x768. When I tried the demo away from GOG it crashed on me before running, hopefully that would not happen here.

The recommended specs for this game are
system:
Pentium III/4 or Athlon at 2GHz or equivalent
RAM:
512 MB
Hard Drive Space:
3000 MB
Other:
Graphics Card: ATi Radeon 8xxx and above, nVidia GeForce3 and above; Sound Blaster Audigy 2 series audio card
So assuming the game runs and doesn't crash like the demo you should beable to run the game at least at around medium settings.
Though you may want to make sure that the game will run before you buy it. Does the crash come up with an error message of any kind?
I will check out the demo once I can re download it. I don't remember any messages from the last time.
I worry about minimum and recommended specs because the performance can still vary a lot
I did redownload the demo and get it working(it goes black screen, resizes, full screens again, then stays black for awhile before the video plays)
It ran pretty good and I liked it more than the other games I tried today so I bought it.

A little to hasty on the demo before or was it something different and it just didn't crash this time? Either way glad you got it cleared up.

well i have a similar setup to yourself (2.4 ghz, 1 GB ram, radeon 9800 card) and i find i can run it on high texture quality, but i have to throttle back the draw distance to 4 (on the games scale of 10) and turn the extras (like Vsync and Anisotropc filtering) off. It runs quite well, but the framerate does tend to drop a bit. with medium quality textures, still quite nice looking, i am able turn up the draw distance. Hope this helps as a useful comparison.
EDIT: Apologies for the long rambling answer. Did not see problem had already been solved. Just look at my title.
