Hi, i just installed the Game on my Computer and it always crashes when i try to configure my Game Pad.
Here are my System Specs:
Windows 7 RC 64bit
4GB DDR2 RAM
Radeon 3870
Realtek On Board Sound
Gamepad: Saitek P2600 Rumble Pad (Rumbling is Disabled)
The Pad is installed properly in Windows.
I tried running the Game in Compatibilty Mode for Windows XP SP3 with the same Result :(
Does anyone know how to solve this Issue ?

I know it may not sound like a fix for this, but make sure that the graphics settings are okay first and then try configuring the controller. I highly advise turning v-sync on.
I tried that but without success :(
When i go into the Controller Options, i can choose my Gamepad, then assign the Keys but once i push "OK" there, it crashes :(

The only other fix I know about is the language file fix. Some versions had an issue where it would crash the game if you went into the car setup screen within the career mode. If you do a search for CMR 2005 car setup crash fix in a search engine you should find many posts about it and links to download the fix. The fix itself is just a replacement language file.
However, whether this will work for you I don't know as I've not heard of anyone else crashing with controller setup. But give it a try and see.

Ok, i found now out that it wasnt the Games Fault but the Controllers / Windows Fault.
I noticed that the Rumbling didnt work in the Controller Properties of Windows (cause i have it turned off anyways always) and so i read through the Saitek Forum.

There i read to delete some Registry Keys and reconnect the Controller.
After that, the Rumble worked in the Controller Properties of Windows and then ColinMcRae also worked :)

Glad you got it sorted out. How is force feedback in the game anyway? I use a 360 controller and as the game is DirectInput, not XInput, I get no vibration of my controller.
