So I sent this problem to the support guys and they are currently working on the problem, but since it has been virtually a week I thought I'd throw this out to the masses and see what comes back.
So I start career mode and enter the 2wd, 6 stage competition; aka the first set of races. I am in first overall, in terms of points, and I finish the last race. When the load screen comes up the game CTD.
Now, I've played this stage more than a few times from different memory slots with the same results. I've played this stage without making the podium by the end of the set of races and I get past the load screen only for the game to tell me that I suck, try again.
My rig specs;
CPU: amd 64, 3500+
RAM: 3 gb
Video: Nvidia 7900
OS: Vista (UAM disabled)
Good luck to all who try to solve this mystery for me. I really appreciate the help.

whodares2: Well, I heard back from tech. support....they say it is possible that I might be missing a movie file or two from their version of this game. They will be talking to the devs to find out for certain if this is the case. Whether or not they'll let me know about it, who knows but I hope that they do. I would love to find out the EXACT cause of this dilemma.
Cheers.

That's pretty weird... shouldn't we all have the same game exactly with the same files? There should be 20 files under the videos folder in your installation. These ones to be exact:
final.wmv
final_l.wmv
perimeter.wmv
perimeter_l.wmv
podamat.wmv
podamat_l.wmv
podawrd1.wmv
podawrd1_l.wmv
podawrd2.wmv
podawrd2_l.wmv
podawrd4.wmv
podawrd4_l.wmv
podpro.wmv
podpro_l.wmv
soldiers.wmv
soldiers_l.wmv
sting.wmv
sting_l.wmv
twimtbp.wmv
twimtbp_l.wmv
As you can see there are actually only 10 videos, but each with 2 qualities. Check if anything is missing.

Huh...that is really weird. Side by side my video files are all accounted for with what you've listed above. However, without NOVIDEO typed into the target box of properties I cannot complete the rally set. (I've just tested it again)
This certainly goes beyond my mediocre skill of trouble shooting. Maybe it has something to do with a file that would activate the video....That is another mystery that I'm not sure I have the patience to try and solve when I can actually play the game now.

Can you see the opening videos without problem? If so, the in game video player should not be the problem. Still, let me know when you try the codec thing I told you about.

This is why I said before, that You actually can run intro - game probably would crash in the beginning if every video would be corrupted. ;)

When I start the game without tinkering with anything, I can view the opening videos without issue. When I go into the file location and play a video with my default player I do not have any issues. When completing the last race of a rally and I have hit continue to get to the load screen (after times are displayed) the loading gets to the end of the bar, a slight pause and BOOM, back to desktop; even after installing the K-lite package.
Apparently the only way for me to advance and unlock stuff is to use the NOVIDEO option.
The only things that I don't know and haven't tested is when/how stuff is unlocked and whether or not if this is a NA version that might be complicationg things. I've tested disabling auto-save, I've tried V-sync on/off, I've tried low graphic options, I've tried redownloading/installing (even into different directories and main harddrives), I've even tried installing a polish patch with an English Lang. replacement file as well as the service area anti-crash mod. ALL yielded the same results: win/lose last race, times, load, BOOM!
I'm utterly confounded. I will continue to try to sort this out as best as possible but, as I've stated earlier, at the very least I can continue with the game now.

I honestly don't know what to do anymore too. You could get your copy of the game to another PC and try it there. If it works, than, you should consider formatting your PC and reinstalling everything from scratch.
But the videos aren't that much of a loss anyway. They kinda suck.

Capital idea!
I have a deep fear that it might be something in my system that is preventing this game from running the way that it should. I have nothing to justify that thought with though....just paranoia.
Now, all I need is another PC.
