Tekkaman-James: While that could sometimes have been the fault of the "actor", who was sometimes just a person who worked in the office that was put in front of a microphone, the voice directors back in the early 90's weren't much help either. About 10 years ago, I had the opportunity to chat with renowned voice actress Wendee Lee and I asked her if there were any production studios that she liked working with more than others. While she certainly had her favorites, she said she was more concerned with the studios that she tried to avoid. Some directors refuse to do more than one take...even if there is a flub. Wendee would insist that she be given another chance to deliver a line only to have the director say,
"Look, honey, I don't have all day. Next line." Things have improved a lot over the years, but you still get a few stinkers every once in a while.
