I'm starting the game for the first time, but I'm having some trouble with choosing the video mode.

3dfx runs fast enough (although it tends to slow down a bit whenever thunders appear), but the quality is pretty bad. It looks as if the game lacked proper shadows. I don't know how to explain, and I can't even show you, because if I take a screenshot with F9 (or even with the screen capture feature in Radeon Pro) the result actually looks good, unlike in the game itself. Im not sure how this is possible, but anyway...

Direct3D looks okay but runs too slow to be playable, so it's not an option. Incidentally, Blood 2 has the same problem - I'm thinking it might be because of Windows 8.

I could play with 3dfx, but I'd like to know if there's a way to fix the lighting first. Anyone else has this problem?

I think it MIGHT be Windows 8, as I run the game on Windows 7 (and have had it work on previous Windows versions such as XP) and never had any problems.

I don't know if there is a solution for this, sorry.
