I've been having an issue with the sound in the editors for Undying and I'm wondering if anyone knows of a way to solve the issue.

When using the editor sounds do not play (ambient sounds when realtime preview is enabled, sounds in the sound browser), but upon clicking on certain UI elements (opening a drop down menu, resizing one of the actor property windows) the sound works. As soon as the menu is is closed or the mouse button is released, the sound goes back to being silent.

This occurs in both UndEd and UndEd2 and on both systems that I've tested on. Is this a known issue that someone has found a fix for?

It's a shot in the dark, but, supposing that you are on Windows 7 or later, I'd try setting the editor to run in compatibility mode for Windows XP.

P.S. As a general rule, you should provide more information about your system: particularly your OS.

Thanks for the reply,

The two systems that I had tested this on earlier are both running Windows 7 x64. I just had the chance to try it on an older system running Windows XP (and installing the game from the original retail disc), but the same issue is also present there. Switching the compatibility mode and running as administrator also didn't solve the problem.

It's not easy to help you: I initially thought of a stability issue, hence the suggestion of using compatibility mode but it could even be a bug of the software. Personally I've never used the editor, so I'm afraid I can't help you further.
