I got it to work! Renewal 1.4 just released so tried to copy the files in, and it broke my install... So I reinstalled and updated again and it started up. Thankfully my saves still worked. Did the spell and it opened!


I'm at the part where you get the lightning spell and then you must use it to open a door. Well casting it at the door should open it, but it does not. I played the game about two years ago and I remember this working.

I am using the Undying Renewal mod, could that be causing this bug? I'm very much hard locked and desperately trying to figure out a workaround. I tried lowering the refresh rate to 60hz, because I figured maybe 144hz was causing this, but that did not help. I also tried to noclip through but you cannot because it needs to load a new map.

I'm also playing at 3840x2160 resolution. I will try lower resolutions to see if that helps.
