Yann_Darko: Also, I don't understand: I bought all the units in the castle (100 GP each) with a treasury of only 200 GP, and the treasury is still untouched at 200 GP... I wonder if it's a bug (probably not).
If you haven't built anything yet, the barracks (or whatever it's called in English, I don't know) does not produce units. The units you see if you click there are the units that are currently
inside your castle (the ones who will defend it if enemy attacks). The number 100 is not cost but its
strength/HP (I say strength because, as is the case in many TBS, the lower the HP the less effective the units becomes in battle). By clicking those units and then clicking the button in the lower right corner you just
move them out of your castle, not "buy".
To produce units:
- you have to first upgrade this building (upper right corner "menu" button -> build -> the name of the building in English), it costs 200 gold.
- Then, a new button with a hammer icon becomes clickable when you select the building.
-Once you click it on the left you have a list of "licenses" you can purchase to enable a production of a given unit. Select a license you want and click a "purchase license" button.
- On the right you have the images of units you already have the licenses for (peasant is available as default). You click an image and then "produce".
- A license for light infantry is 10g, while producing it costs 3 gold I think and takes two turns (the city produces the unit continuously until you tell it to stop). It's all shown there.
- Once a unit is produced you can move it out of the castle the same way you did when you thought you were buying them for 100.
I remember when I picked this game as a kid I had the exact same confusion and took me a while to figure out as well ;)
TIP: if you right click a button the game tells you what it does. Doesn't work for buttons that are unavailable yet though.
