When first trying to open the game through the desktop shorcut an error popped up saying module init error, so I opened up the launcher, and restored it to default settings and tried to launch the game directly through the original exe and it displayed the same error. I've tried all compatibility modes, disabled my anti-virus and I had the files verified before beginning the install. Any help would be greatly appreciated because GOG never answers my support emails.

Try installing the game to C:\GOG Games\ and not into Program Files. Already disable your Anti-Virus during installation. They tend to quarantine or block old deactivated DRM files, thus causing a module init error.

Some users report that the game must be installed in this folder structure to run
[Drive:]\GOG Games\Installed\The Chronicles of Riddick\Chronicles of Riddick - Assault on Dark Athena

Further you can explicitly running the game as Administrator by right-clicking the file you want to start and select "Run as..".

It's unusual that GOG support doesn't answer. Have you tried sending a ticket via the web form.
