I spoilered myself while reading a steam review of some guy complaining about the fact, that Pester dissappears during mid game and instead you get a robot companion, that ain't worth nothing... now I know exactly what this dude was talking about. Xero is a level 13 character with the abilities of a level 3 character?! What a stupid turn of events. Until this mission, I really liked the game, but I don't want to have to use this stupid robot for the rest of the game, holy sh**...

Question: is everything going to be alright after this mission?!? xD ^^

Xero gains levels quickly if he's under-levelled, due to the patch 1.0.1 XP catch-up system. He does gain cards and card upgrades rapidly when he levels up. Because his cards are more complex than Nahmi's or Brice's we didn't want to start him off with the same number of cards as the others when you first get him.

Mmh, in my case he is not underleveled?! I mean, my main characters also only have level 13, so they are the same level... but even with the same level, Xero is heavily underpowered. His cards do damage of only half the amount of the others... but he also doesn't work as a tank, because he has way to low hitpoints or defense... he is dead within one or two rounds... I will give this another try this noon. thanks for the reply
Xero is great, you just have to level him up a bit with some skirmishes. Once you get some more cards and card upgrades for him, he's easily just as powerful as the others, if not more.

That's good to read, because I was really worried, that this might have killed the game for me... because he is just of no use in that mission, a fact that is so awkward because he is being introduced as the great savior of the children in that mission... (that where a lot of "becauses")

Edit: After all, this forced switch between Pester and Xero was a big low in my playing experience. A low, that almost pushed me away from the game. Especially since a mechanic, that is very important for Xero to be usefull, was not explained in the game... that you activate a certain mode with these golden cards, that leads to bonuses with other cards. The first time I stumbled over this was when I used that Cloak/Hide function with Nahmi. At that time I didn't know, that "hidden" was a change of status, since I found it obvious, that she is now more unlikely to be hit...

End of story: I learned about an interesting gameplay feature and I passed the low from before :)
