As of today, Sept 10, 2019, I am still unable to download the GOG version.
All I get is a very long text file. :(

Are you downloading the Linux version? The installer is basically a shell script (text file) with an appended zip file.

I own the Windows version. I, always, was able to 'dl' the install file until recently.
All I get is a long text file which is not accessible.
This is the only GOG game, that I own, that has this issue.l

I believe you're accidentally selecting "Linux" on the download page in the upper left corner instead of windows.
