Cave Story has been available for lots of platforms, including (now retro) consoles like Dreamcast and GameCube or PS Vita. Importantly, it was also available on Linux. For some reason the new version is only announced for Windows. Can we get a Linux version please?
I've played Cave Story's Secret Santa on wine-6.16 without any notable problems.

The game is made with Unity game engine, which makes it more puzzling why it's Windows-only. Since the game engine supports A LOT of platforms. See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Unity_(game_engine)#Supported_platforms

Of course, it's a free gift, so we shouldn't complain that much.

Although it's a pity Nicalis doesn't show how skilled it is in non-Windows ports.

@GOG: why I can't post links?

@TheJSKU, your reputation points say 2. You need at least 7 (five?) as far as I know to post links. So keep using posting in the forums and eventually you'll be able to.

You can see my rep is 1, so I'm further behind on you. (GOG isn't where I'm most active.)

Some ports are unoficial though since it's freeware after all. The only officials one created are the original PC version, WiiWare, DSiWare and the Nintendo Switch release.

Played it on Steam, the Linux port is enough in my opnion and is pretty much straight forward.
Still sucks is Windows-Only. On wine I've no audio whatsoever because some dll related issue ot something, some graphics are a little wonky too.
