I've searched for this and failed to find an answer

When I run Carma the savegame option doesn't work.

This is the case whichever version I run ( std, hardware mode or Win95 Patch)

I can get into the savegame screen, type the name I want but when I hit enter or doubleclick the screen goes back to wherever it was before. When I check back there's no savegame nor can I find one on the disk anywhere - the savegames are there in the Savagame directory but they're all blanks as installed

The system in Win7 64 bit and the games is installed in D:\Program Files (x86)\GOG.com\Carmageddon\CARMA\

If I copy a savegame from my old (original!) version of Carma it will load it so the issue is with the saving.

What am I doing wrong / WTF is going on?

Why are you installing it in %Program Files% for?
You should know that Win 7 only allows for changes there if allowed admin permissions.

WTF!!!!
Thanks for the reply.

I installed it there as that's where the installer wanted to put it.

I didn't know that but then the last windows I bothered to learn much about was Win98

I've tried it and it made no difference whatsoever.

However if I cut & paste a savegame in from another location it will allow me to use and reuse that.

I had the same problem. The game just doesn't work unless run as administrator, if you install it in the Program Files directory, because Windows won't let it write the saves there.

I tried in a number of directories and it would not work in any unless run as admin. My mouse seems to have gone AWOL too but that's not a big issue.

I guess run as admin is the solution for this one. Thanks for the help.
