Hi.
When I play in the hardware mode, the graphics are incredible good, but the FPS are incredible low.
How to do improve my Hardware mode?

I try every config. in graphic mode but the results are not even closer (very "pixeled").

My config: Intel core i7 3930K 3.2Ghz, 16 GB RAM, Win 7 64 bits, GPU ATI Radeon HD7950.

Sorry about my english, its not my language.

I'm a bit surprised that you have a low framerate with those specs.
My cpu is much slower (4 core AMD 2.2GHz), but I have just a too low framerate (15-20 fps) to play this game in hardware mode.
You could try the Win95 patch, this runs smooth on most systems, but doesn't look as good as the hardware mode.
I can only guess that either your system isn't configured correctly (something slows it down or some settings aren't right) or it's just that Carmageddon on Dosbox in 3Dfx is just a hog on any system regardless how fast it is.
are you in the "in car view" ? if so, try turning the rear view mirror off..... this worked for me.

if youre not, i dont know.... sorry.
I don't know what happens.

if I edit the files "3dfx", can I make any difference?

I suggest trying to use nglide. See if it changes anything. Instructions on where to get it and how to set it up can be found here: http://www.gog.com/en/forum/carmageddon/carmageddon_hq_how_to/page1
I may be imagining things but I think I got few frames better fps than without nglide. The fps isn't too great on my machine either, with or without nglide. I prefer the Win95 patch.

Erm..., the GOG version uses nGlide (see the nglide_readme.txt file in the CARMA folder), still it is an older version so it could be that the newer is a bit more optimized.

edit:

@jukajuru: There is a thing you can try, go to the Carmageddon\DOSBOX folder and rename glide2x.dll and glide2x.ovl to glide2x.dll.bak and glide2x.ovl.bak. They are duplicates to those in the CARMA and CARSPLAT folders and might cause problems.
