Hi all

I just bought this this morning and I'm trying to start it up. The screen blacks out then I get a "SetMode Failed: (DDERR_UNSUPPORTED)" error message and it drops back to windows. I'm running Windows 8 64 bit, on an i5, 8gb ram, NvidiaGTX650TI 1gig

Any help would be appreciated

Have you tried changing the shortcut to run in compatibility more for win XP. I'm not sure how, or even if, you can do this in win8, but that would be the first place to look.
I had the same error. Go into the application file, go to properties, go to compatibility mode, and have it run a diagnostic. Worked fine for me after that! Can't wait to try it!

Thank guys! all good now, had to run the compatibility troubleshooter, doing the settings manually didn't work (yay windows...)
Thanks, worked for me too!

Thank you, worked great!
I had the same problem, but then when I went through compatibility troubleshooter, I now get

Error opening file RESOURCE\A_WAVE2.RES

Anyone else experience this?
Worked for me too. Strange that I have Win 8.1 and it reverted support for Win 8. I didn't knew 8.1 differed so much from 8...

Thanks for helping.

Same here, so compatibility troubleshooter, it picked Windows XP Service Pack2 (I'm running 7). Then when launching game: Error opening file RESOURCE\A_WAVE2.RES

For context: Win 7 runs in VirtualBox over Mac OS 10.11, though I don't think it's relevant here.
