I absolutely LOVE this game and the clone of it on the iPhone. I was wondering if anyone has heard of games similar to this that are more recent? Im looking into "Soldiers:WWII" but I'm really looking for a more run-and-gun approach rather than a slower experience. any tips?

Theatre of Death is almost exactly like cannon fodder in control just a it has a little more depth. Its not more recent it actually came out about the same time as cannon fodder, it kind of got panned in the reviews when it came out but watch the video and see what you think.

Video of it in play. Yes it says amiga but it also came out for DOS. Trying to find this game might be a little hard though.

I've also heard that darwinia is somewhat similar though I've never bothered to try the game myself.There are demos out for Darwinia so you can try that one before you buy it.
