So I haven't downloaded this one YET, but it's coming soon.
In the meantime... am I the only one that would absolutely NOT ACCEPT losing Jools and Jops? After all, they are your first two guys.
And I just got attached to them.
It didn't matter if the mission was almost over and one of them died... nope. Gotta start it over. Can't lose my two veterans!
its sad as hell but yes, I never accepted the loss of those 2, by the end of the game they were both 4 star generals and were commanding platoons comprised of colonels & brigadier generals. Most overqualified grunts ever
Well, in my game I already lost Jops :( But I can;t loose Stoo. Come on, how we can kill Elvis?
You're not the only one. It's odd how this game makes you become attached to the people you control.
Yes, losing people your attached to is pretty sad, but it just goes to show how rediculous war is and how the game speaks to you in this way. :)
I kept them for a while but then I figured... screw it :P
Later stages are just too annoying to worry about those little guys anymore :(
Are Jools and Jops one of the first troops you getting? Or why they are so important? :p
Yes, they're the first you get so you get attached to them :D Yeah, pretty geeky, I know.
Also the longer they survived, the more promoted they get, and so the further they can fire!
I'd usually use the tactic of, when encountering enemy troops, backing away from them while firing so that any machine-gun fire hit the rookie...

Heh, the picture of the Elvis look-alike in the intro always cracked me up. :-)
I usually stash the whole team safely away somewhere and send Jools out on Rambo mode.
I remember getting to mission 10 with my kill score being something like:
Jools - 1380
Jops - 8
CJ - 3
everybody else - 0
and no deaths. lol
Agreed. I remember playing this classic British game when It came out and I remember being totally gutted when I lost Jools near the end of the game. It's been fun reliving this game and so far there have been no awful repeats of Jools death so far.

Fact. If you lost Jops and Jools that was a failed mission. Those guys were going all the way to the top, no question.
It's a bit ironic, don't you think? A game called Cannon Fodder, makes you love the guys that are supposed to be that cannon fodder. :)

I never even cared if the other guys died.
Just Jools and Jops.
As one poster said, if they die, mission over.
