For those who want to resurrect this game i found an easy way for make multiplayer working again:

- Go to
C:\Program Files\GOG.com\Call To Power 2\ctp2_program\ctp\
or whatever directory you chose while installing

- open bootserv.txt
(vista users: make sure you have the permission to modify the file, or get it through rightclick>properties>security tab)

- you will see the useless activision server list, should be something like:
us1.alink.activision.com us1.alink.activision.com
us2.alink.activision.com us2.alink.activision.com
uk1.activision.co.uk uk1.activision.co.uk
- add this bunch of new servers under the old ones
dsl081-147.121.chi1.dsl.speakeasy.net dsl081-147.121.chi1.dsl.speakeasy.net
nl.alink.gamepoint.net nl.alink.gamepoint.net
games.igateway.net games.igateway.net
outcasts.ce-systems.net outcasts.ce-systems.net
911.alink.namesdepot.net 911.alink.namesdepot.net
new.namesdepot.net new.namesdepot.net
911.alink.bz911.net 911.alink.bz911.net
alink.hybridphp.com alink.hybridphp.com
alink.bzfederation.com alink.bzfederation.com
some of them probably don't work anymore but it's still worth to have them in the list, whatever happens

- save and let CtP2 online reflourish once again!
