I can now play the game, no problem.

1. Open the Control panel
2. Choose Sound
3. Select your audio device
4. Choose properties
5. Switch to the advanced tab
6. Change the default format to DVD quality

I am kind of late but, this is for Bound in Blood

The game crashes when you have your audio configured to 48000 Hz at 24 bits.
Changing it to 48000 Hz at 16 bits fixes it.
It's a shame that GOG nor the developers fixed this in ANY of the updates and releases.
