crazy_dave: I'm guessing you have Caesar 3 installed in the default program files folder? All that is happening is Caesar 3 is probably trying to save files and changes inside its own folder (saved games, settings, etc ...). And remember Caesar 3 was programmed long before UAC protections came into Windows. UAC doesn't like that kind of behavior from a program (altering files inside the Program Files folder). It's a bit overprotective, so it throws an error/warning. Depending on your security settings it can even just block that behavior - I remember one user was complaining none of their settings were getting saved from one game to the next and it was UAC essentially blocking the game from changing its own settings file because it was in the Program Files folder.

There are two solutions:

install/move the game outside of the Program Files folder

or

run the game as administrator and UAC prompts/warnings will go away

Don't worry Caesar 3 isn't doing anything nefarious to your computer, the warnings are just the result of the new and old meeting incongruously.

Shukaku: Another solution is to just turn UAC off, I never found it remotely helpful and more a hindrance.

lethalwombat: Thank you so much for this reply - I thought that it might be something like that but I wanted to check because I'm not much use with anything advanced on computers. I don't mind clicking through the UAC warning when I want to play the game - just a very minor inconvenience :D
