Hey.

Like so many else, I have this problem. I have tried all the "answers" I have found in other posts, but nothing works.

This is what happends with me. When I try to save, or load the game, a yellow console pops up with a debugging message. And when I press escape button, or type in the console, it closes my game. It is really annoying, I got really far without saving, and now I cant get back in the game.

Anyone who can help out with this?

This appears to be an installer V2 problem; I moved a savegame from a V1 install of the game, to a new V2 installation. I deleted the V1 of the installer, but I haven't uninstalled the V1 installer version of the game... yet.

This is making me wary of continuing my update of GOG installers.

Same problem here, but I could circumvent this issue with a manual installation from ScummVM. Simply get the original ScummVM installer from the ScummVM webpage, install it, start it and choose your Broken Sword installation directory. Whilst you start the game via Scumm and not via the GOG shortcut, you should not encounter any further problems with saving and loading.

Edit: For Broken Sword 2, you have to rename the folder 'Extras' in the installation directory to 'video', otherwise the cutscenes will not be shown correctly if you start the game via Scumm app.

This worked for me, thanks so much!
