I'm not sure what I did wrong. The walk through says if I go to Spain before I go to Syria the priest will vanish. But I didn't do that. The only other thing I can think of ids I visited the catacombs before I went in the church. Do I have to start over?

Which part are you on at the moment?

It's been a while since I played this game, but once you have been to Spain, you will have the chalice and then in Syria you will pickup the lens, I think once you have them both, the Priest will be in the church.

I hope this helps, if not let me know where you are currently.

OK I just got rid of the juggler in Paris. According to the walkthrough I'm either supposed to be able see a secret Templar meeting or meet the priest. There doesn't seem to be any way to see the meeting and as I said the priest isn't in the church. When I go to the world map there's a hot spot for Spain but none for Syria. I'll try continuing the game as you suggested and hope the guy who posted the walkthrough is wrong.

I think I have it figured out. I missed a clue and finally found the meeting. Now Syria has appeared on the world map. Thank you for your help.
Yeah, the priest won't appear in the church until you have recovered both the lens in Syria and the chalice in Spain. Actually, the first time you go to Mauntfacon (or however it is spelled), there really isn't anything you can do in the church. You can look at the stuff in there, but you won't really be able to make a connection with anything until you visit Syria and Spain. I normally go to Syria first, then return to Paris and then head off to Spain for the chalice.
