Hi there, i recently purchased and downloaded Broken Sword 1 from this site so that i can play play it in Scummvm on my Mac. However the files i'm able to download from this site are only .exe files. I'm using a Mac and usually for the games to work in Scummvm you have to be able to extract all the individual data files to Scummvm. I can't seem to do this as i only have the main .exe files that will work on windows.

If anyone understands what i'm asking and knows how to work round this, any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Sam

Yeah when i was on Linux i had the same problem, you have to install or extract the game files from the EXE installer. When i was on Linux i found the program WINE worked for getting the files (once you have the files you can delete WINE if you want)
So you could try WINE for MacOSX just to install the EXE and get the game files. Or maybe try a alternative, or you could look for a "Inno Unpacker" since GOG use Inno setup if you find a "Inno Unpacker" for MacOSX you may be able to just extract the files from the EXE.

Also 1 small note, i don't think the directors cut works with ScummVM you need to use the original version (which is in the extras section of the directors cut on the download page)
just thought i should mention this just incase.

Me, I was wondering about that question for my Android tablet. I already figured out I should use the exe (my PC runs Windows) to get the files I need for ScummVM, but it seems like a good guess I'll need the original game, not the director's cut. Downloading the whole lot now, I hope the original is a lot smaller than 1 GB.

Ok let me know how you get on,

also DubConqueror the original version of Broken sword is around a 270mb download and around 450MB installed so it shouldn't be too big.
But if that's still too big you can probably make it smaller, ScummVM's site has tools for encoding the audio into smaller files, so you could encode the audio into a smaller format to make it fit better.

Well, I put my ScummVM games on the external 32 GB sdcard, so no memory problems there. Thanks for the hint tough.
