I bought the DC some time ago on Steam and played it for a time. However, when I retrieved the scroll and brought it to Nico, I noticed that the cutscene describing the scroll doesn't work. It plays too fast and without sound.
I tried the same with the gog-version of the DC, but the video still doesn't play correctly.

When I open the video file with VLC, it only plays sound (no picture) for like 3 seconds before the program crashes.

Searching the internet, I noticed that this is one of the cutscenes that originally didn't work with the ScummVM. The ScummVM website has the videos seperately as bugfix, but unforunately only in some old file format, that probably won't work with the DC. Renaming those fies to the .ogv format used by the DC allows me to play them in VLC without crash, but again I have only sound, no picture.

Does anyone have a solution for that? I'd realy like to play the game again (been a few years). Playing the original version from gog would probably work, but I prefer the german version.

Edit: I just remembered that the first scene with George plays fast and without sound in the game (gog-version), too. Can't remember how that one played on the steam-version. However, VLC plays that video just fine. I have no idea what's going on there... :-/

The same for me. I've lost some of the cutscene about the scroll.
I would suggest posting some system specs and, if no one volunteers any help, submitting a ticket to support.
Thanks, I'll try that.

Here are my specs:

Motherboard: Asus Rampage II GENE X58 FRG SM
CPU: Intel Core i7-930 2.8 GHz
RAM: 6 GB
HDD: SSD 128GB and 2 TB external HDD over eSATA (tried installing on both drives, neither works)
Grafics: GeForce GTX 480
Sound: onboard SupremeFX X-Fi
Power Supply: 600 W
OS: Win7 Home Premium 64 bit
There are mine

CPU = Intel Core Duo T9300
RAM = 3 Gb
HDD = 500 Gb Maxtor
Grafics = NVidia 9500m GS
Sound = onboard
OS = Win7 Ultimate 64 bit
Yeah, I have experienced a problem with that cutscene too. The video shuts down like 10-15 seconds earlier. I´ve watched the video on Youtube and I´ll continue playing the game, but that was annoying :P
