If I'm correct, the replacement file for the DVD version you've linked is the same that's used by Gog. It's really good news: thanks to Revolution Software & Gog, we can finally play without issues, either with DVD version or with Gog's one (straight install, as it comes fully patched already).

yes revolution did a digital version for gog & then with the problems with mutliprocessors they did a patch . I think originally it wasn't patched as gog users still had a problem with the exe file. I think gog should have listed it somewhere that the exe file should be re downloaded.

plumgas: downloaded gog version last night & it seems the black character issues have been fixed, running it on win 7 64 on quad processor
Excellent good to know. I just bought it I'm on a duel core but quad and over is just an upgrade away. I do wish gog would version number their downloads to make it easier for people to workout if they have been updated or not.
