When I enter the Controls Remapping option, I see that there's an examine function, but it's not available for keyboard\mouse, only for a PS\X-Box-style controller. What is this function?

Considering one of my major (and very loud) criticisms of Broken Age was a lack of a Look/Examine interaction, this surprises me, but although I own the game and have a controller somewhere, I'm too lazy to install and try it.
If it actually HAS an Examine option that wasn't available to kbm (are keys not rebindable on this screen?!), then that would be...crazy. Here I spent the entire game clicking the spoon at stuff as an alternate.
