Yesterday night, some people could join the game I created.
After that, I checked available online games and could find some and join them.
There was no new update installed, so I guess they changed someting on servers side.
I will try again this evening to be sure, but it looks like solved for now.

I just tried a few minutes ago and I could find a few online games (not many).
So yes, the problem is solved for me.

I just did a check and it listed 43 games right away on my mac, I saw over 60 last night on my pc version(which still shows the older version number on the title screen even if it isn't). So it does appear they changed something on their end to stop rejecting the GOG client or something(steam clients have a slightly different version number).

I didn't try to join any games as I haven't really played any to be ready.

It would seem the game has phases where the servers are just off and on. The game is really fun but this is stupid.

I personally would avoid this. If the devs don't care about GOG users, then they do not deserve your money on steam either.
