Why decide to join Games In Development on GOG?

Bounty Train is a complex game. Your character will be an engine driver, a train engineer, a fighter, a trader, and an investigator, probably all at once. This complexity requires a wide variety of game mechanics from different game genres, such as train simulators, real-time strategy games, business simulations and RPGs. It is difficult to create such a complex game from scratch, so we decided to do it step by step. In cooperation with our passionate players we hope to make Bounty Train an enjoyable experience.

Approximately how long will Bounty Train be in early access?

There's no exact date yet, so we will keep the community updated and we'll try to make it happen as soon as possible.

How can the community participate in the development process?

Our players’ feedback is very important to us. As we are still in relatively early stage of development, we still have the capacity to implement features suggested by the community. We'll gladly take their feedback in terms of bug-hunting and detecting any other issues that may arise while playing Bounty Train. We want to be as close as possible to our players and chat with the community in forums and mailing lists or via polls.

How should we do this? Should we just make threads here? Is there a bug report location the devs would prefer us to use? I am especially interested in this mailing list you say exists.

I've already got one clear suggestion to make and I want to point out a few typos (I wish I had noted them down when I saw them).

hmmm... yes, why indeed? I have bought the game 4 months ago and since then there has not been a single update/patch/new version! Strange for a game "in development" - or should I say abandoned, after an initial money grab from those dumb enough to pay quite a lot of money for an unfinished game?!

Don't get me wrong, this first beta version looks quite nice apart from a few things that I would have changed/improved, but now will not even bother to further comment because I guess I also have just given up on this game... lesson learned: be wary of buying unfinished games, rather wait until the game is finished, then put it on your wishlist and grab it at the first 80 % discount sales...

And: in the future do not hesitate to use the 30-day-money-back-guarantee for games in development if they do not meet your expectations!

At least there is still the yet unsurpassed Railroad Tycoon 2 Platinum :-)... my suggestion for all who are considering to buy "Bounty Train" or a similar game: get RT2 and have (more) fun for less money with this old but great game!
Thank you for your comment, but we still develop this game. Unfortunately we had to rework rather big part of the game and we couldn't split it into several small updates. That's why next update will be with so big delay. In the same time it will bring a lot new features, fixes and new content.

Another one drawback is that players will loose their progress. We are really sorry for this, but we couldn't support them with so big changes.
Hello,

I've seen on steam that the game get an update. What about gog's players ? Didn't saw any news about it.

By the way, the game is really good, but I can't understand why we can't get several wagon for mercenaries.
Other point, put a pay system for mercenaries each months or each weeks and a system where our employees could leave us if we do bad or good action (depend of them).

except those feedback, I found the game nice and peasant to play.

Have a nice day.

Glad to hear you enjoy our game!
As for update, unfortunately at gog it will be a little bit later. Probably at the beginning of year 2017. We really regret that couldn't release update at the same time at both locations, but from other side, gog might got more stable version.

As for mercenaries salary, it's interesting idea. Especially with possibility that employee could leave us. Union soldier can leave us, if our players attitude to Confederates will be too high and vice versa. We will check this, thanks!
Hey, I'm really loving the game, and I know it's both been out for a little while and that this thread is old, but I didn't know where else to ask you directly - Are there any plans for similar train games in different locales in different periods?

There is a rich history of trains in wartime in Eastern Europe, for instance. I'm a bit of an armchair historian when it comes to the Ukrainian revolution (1917-21), and the train really stuck out to me as a central figure in warfare, as well as day-to-day life.

They used to have massive gun turrets on armored cars, generals would conduct business in their mobile command posts on board the train, trains were used as trojan horses (a peasant dissident by the name of Nestor Makhno famously crept into a city believed to be unassailable late at night via train and took it over), they were used for surprise attacks (the same dissident army would load maxims and lewis guns into cargo cars, roll up to austro-hungarian encampments, open the doors suddenly, and mow them down), taking a railway could mean the difference between victory or defeat, and entire up-armored war trains were outright stolen, among so many other things. I know that armored trains weren't unique to this conflict and had existed since the 19th century, but I feel like this conflict specifically had so much insane stuff going on surrounding trains.

Basically, what tanks were to World War 2, trains were to the Ukrainian conflict and then some. I could go on and on about that particular conflict and all of the interesting politicking (a resurrection of the hetmanate puppeted by austro-hungarians!) all day, but suffice to say, if you ever want to make a sequel, look into Eastern Europe and Russia around World War 1/the revolution. There is an absolute wealth of history to tap into that nobody seems to do anything with. The closest thing too it was that WW1 fps game that came out on console, and that franchise isn't really as interesting as a game like Bounty Train is.

Again, sorry for the random post - it's just that ever since I picked up this great game, all I've been able to think about is "This would be so much cooler if I were chugging through war-torn europe with heavy gun turrets on armored cars."

This is a video about World War 1, but you get the picture: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dvHTR-5n2_E

Idk how anyone couldn't think this was just impossibly cool.

not a greatest idea considering that developers are Ukrainian and current ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. Ukraine is bleeding, people get killed every day in war and you want a game to glorify Russian communist bastards? I supported Bounty Train but I won't support any game about Russians and their history events. I bet same goes for many Ukrainians who wants Russia to evaporate overnight for everything they have done to our nation during last 300 years.
