At various points in the game, the camera goes into a third-person shooter mode. Any ability to play more/all of the game like that?

Also, any way to buck the anti-coop trend in gaming (and right the wrong that was the co-op being stripped from DNF) by getting co-op in here? As I play through it, the game seems like it could benefit from some tacked-on coop.
