Hello,
I'm having trouble getting BR1-Teminal Cut to start. It acts like it is going to start, screen goes blank with icon rotating/thinking and then comes back to the desktop/GOG Galaxy screen. I have tried many tricks that I have up my sleve; closing all program/antivirus, reinstalling, playing with compatibility settings, and even the old DEP exception trick but still no go. I get no error message and my PC is more than enough to run the game. Intel i7, RTX2080, 16GB memory, etc. HELP!!!!

Does it show you the pre-launch options? For me it crashed consistently until I changed the antialiasing from 4x to 1x.

Nope, don't get anything. As mentioned the screen goes blank/black for a second and back to desktip/GOG Galaxy where I tried to launch it.
Have you checked https://www.gog.com/forum/bloodrayne_terminal_cut_series/bloodrayne_2_crash ?

A dev replied to that thread with confirmation that they're working on the issue.

I saw that, and sadly I don't have a controller and/or a Direct Input controller plugged in.
Same for me, black screen and no setup comes up. I do own it at Steam too and there it works just fine, so it must be something wrong for GOG release.
I'm currently at the Butcheress boss fight. Zero problems with the game on my end so far.

Okay, found the problem, and it is because of an XBox Controller showing up in Device Manager. I had to disable the device and BOOM BloodRayne Terminal Cut was working just fine. Didn't think to look there, but a long time ago I did have a controller plugged in (Steam Controller).

Yes, that fixed the problem, but I play some games with my controller, so it is not really solution for me. I guess in meantime I play it from Steam, where I can play it with controller enabled.

I hear ya....
Not ideal at all, but a work around. I'm more a Mouse and Keyboard guy, as I don't know why I can't get use to any controller layout. I'm guessing I'm too old. LOL

That is quite likely because Steam works as middleware for just about any controller available on the market, including support for the special features of the controllers for PS5 and whatever the newest XBox is called. I'm not 100% sure about how Steam presents controllers to games, but it does do some things to make it easier to use non-XBox controllers with games that expect XBox controllers for endusers.
