I agree, her jumping was nerfed compared to the first game.
As I'm playing through BR2 again (after nearly 10 years) I am noticing a very distinctive pattern that there are too many enemies constantly spawning; Some of this is you need access to blood since the enemies hit WAY too hard from what I remember; And a number of the puzzles are based on 'throw enemy into' to continue. So far this includes: Large Fan, fireplace, garbage truck, electronic boxes, furnace, speakers, signs, air pumps, walls, other enemies, etc. I know there will be more later.
The only real improvement was the movement centering was fixed, and the HD patch does indeed make the whole game look much sharper (although that doesn't do much for the video sequences, which still look 2003ish).
Hmmm what did I enjoy about BR1 that BR2 is lacking... Perhaps that you are almost an invincible killing machine (since they had horrible aims) and you were against nazis; Quite often only making serious mistakes (or cluster f***ed) would end up getting you killed. You also had a concise list of officers you were after, options of where to go (at least early on) of where to explore.
In BR2? You can get killed quite easily by 2-3 unarmed humans, or those with 2x4's and bats; however unless they are armed with a melee weapon you can mount anyone, do a instant-kill, or heal (via draining them). You also can't use any ranged weapon(s) compared to the first game, but then again pistols is kinda poor pickings.
It's been a seriously long time since I played BR2, and I do recall it being odd and jumping forward in time/place on occasion making you just get lost, but I'll have to see that when I play this time around.
edit: And I'll say I'm sick of BR2. Honestly the puzzles are repetitive and you're constantly being bombarded by between 3 and 6 minions keeping you busy while not able to look at any puzzles properly, and those puzzles are usually throwing the minions at things. And getting killed from 3 unarmed punches all at once makes it feel very unbalanced. Just not quite as fun. I know I beat this a month or so after this game came out originally, but really it's kinda unnerving it's so... hmmm...
