BloodRayne 1

Which should I use? Does any one know any of any differences aside from the API's them selves? Like visually.

Don't take my word as absolute on this, but in my experience running a game in DirectX generally provides a higher framerate than OpenGL. I don't know if that's true across all games, or what factors might be influencing it, but it's what I've observed.

Yes that is often the case with a lot of old games as they have unfinished OpenGL renderers like UT99.

However OpenGL campared to Directx it's self has more features and yields a performance bump usually up to 10% though I have read of Valve getting a 15% performance bump, though that may have included running on Linux as well.

So really the basis of my question is, is the OpenGL renderer finished or not, will run in to surprises?

Maybe no one here knows and I will just find out. lol
The old times with the demo I played about this OpenGL/DirectX thingy. Since I always have older VGAs I need a few tricks to run certain games or demos. I learned, if a TNT2 or Geforce2 MX can't handle a game or not even support it try out the OpenGL platform and voilá, the game runs!
Interesting. lol there is a TNT2 in a box right here.
