I saw a similar question already about Bloodrayne 1, but in that game the game videos play fine for me. In BR2, I get only audio. The gameplay graphics are fine though.

This is a pretty new HP Ultrabook laptop with Windows 8, I haven't installed any 3rd party video codecs myself as far as I know. It would sound like some kind of codec issue, if I only knew what.

Any fix known, anyone else seen this?

Some more information, if I go to the video directory (..\BloodRayne 2\video\) and play the videos with the game's mediaplayer:

Cutscene.exe A1S01P01.mpg

they play just fine. But from within the game, they don't, only sound is heard. What gives?

Ah yes, now I noticed that BR2 is not listed as Windows 8 compatible, while BR1 is. Is this a known issue with Win8 then? Has others been playing it fine in Windows 8, with videos too?

The game itself seems to run fine in Windows 8, as far as I can tell.

All I can say is that, prior to the release of "8", MS announced that it was making no effort for it to be compatible with older games.

I just installed this game and ran into this problem. Running it in compatibility mode (set mine to Vista SP2) seemed to have fixed it for me.
