After many hours of testing I finally got this game working on Linux the way I wanted it too. According to the WineHQ entries, the FMV Cutscenes do not work, this patch fixes it.
The Long Story why the Cutscenes didn't play:
The game uses a dedicated Executable to play the cutscenes which doesn't seem to work with Wine. In order to fix this I switched it with a more modern video player (Media Player Classic). Due to the nature of this change, skipping said cutscenes is a bit differently: to skip them left click once (anywhere) on the video and then hit Alt+X on keyboard :-)
Warning: Since this is a Windows game, this guide assumes you already have Wine installed on your system. As of the time of writing, the game has been tested with Wine 1.9.21 however it should work with any similar version.
Step by Step Guide:
1) Create a clean 32bit Wine prefix and open up the configuration window.
2) Settings are as follow -
Windows Version: Windows XP
Graphics Tab: Automatically capture mouse in full screen - Ticked
Allow the window manager to decorate the windows - UnTicked
Allow the window manager to control the windows - Ticked
Emulate a virtual desktop - Ticked (For this one I set the size to my native 1920x1080 res).
You can now close the configuration tool.
3) Install BloodRayne as you normally would.
4) Download the patch from my Google Drive folder and extract it where you installed the game. If it asks you to overwrite any files, choose yes to all.
5) You're now ready to Launch the game. Please notice that the game can only be ran using the DirectX 8.1 Renderer, the rest of the options work fine.
WideScreen Notice: The game doesn't list Widescreen resolutions but you can still use them. Go to your "BloodRayne\system\" folder, open "rayne.ini" in a text editor and look for "gamePIXX=800" and "gamePIXY=600", replace the numbers with your desired resolution.
Enjoy :-)
