Google Sourceforge VDMSound...

Years ago, in Windows XP, I installed the demo of Blood 1,
had VDMSound installed, and was able to get the game to
play, music and SFX, no problem...

Has anyone tried this with newer versions of Windows?

Blood.exe is a 16-bit application, so will not run natively in 64-bit versions of Windows (this is why it comes with DOSBox, for the DOS emulation).

With system hardware specs as they are, I really don't know why you'd want a 32-bit Win7 or Win8 on a gaming machine, but I suppose you could try VDMSound if for some reason you do have a 32-bit Win7 or Win8.

The author of VDM sound quit working on the project when he learned of Windows Vista's system specifications. Even VDM sound requires a 16 bit sub system it seems. The folks at Vogons could answer this more knowledgeably.
