I am not new to dosbox (I have been playing games on it since 2006) but i am seem to be unable to get dosbox to run at a playable speed. I have tried increasing cycles to no avail, and cant think of another solution. My computer is strong enough to play the ARMA 3 alpha and i have played much more demanding games under dosbox (test drive) without problems. Even running it in opengl does not work, which i remember it fixing about 5 years ago last time I played the game on an XP computer. Any suggestions?

Thanks

Do you have that problem only with Blood or with other games in DOSBox as well?
You might try setting DOSBox's affinity to a single core, or try running it through another virtual machine like VirtualBox. I was able to get Blood to run at 100+ FPS with FreeDOS, but it would crash at anything higher than 800x600.

You might also try one of the experemental DOSBox builds like ykhwong. Stixsmaster did a fairly good writeup of it a few months back: Make Blood Run 1280x1024 Resolution Smooth + Did You Know...?
Hi Guys,
Thanks a lot for the responses. I downloaded a precompiled collection via torrent that seems to run fine. Very strange issue!

Thanks again!
