The in-game slider under "Options" don't do a thing.

Changing and testing the volume in the setup file works fine, but doesn't carry over to the game.
Manually changing the .cfg file wont work either.

I can remove the music card in the setup, but I feel it detracts from the overall mood of the game. The carnival level wouldn't be half as fun w/o the music and ambient sounds.

Any suggestions?
Well, I had that issue with redneck rampage and found . It fixed that game (exactly [url=http://www.gog.com/forum/redneck_rampage_series/music_is_too_loud/post15] this concrete post), and since they are both quite similar, it may just work. Good luck!

Well, I tried the different solutions mentioned in the thread, but unfortunately it didn't work. Finally I bit the bullet, ran setup and removed the music card. Peace & quiet at last...
You have three options, from hardest to easiest:

1) Remove the .OGG files so the game will play no music at all. It will still acknowledge that a CD has been mounted, but it cannot find any CD audio tracks so no music will be played. They're also defined in the GAME.INS (which is basically a .cue file) which you can edit if you want.

2) Edit your DOSBox .conf files (dosboxBlood_single.conf for singleplay) and remove this following line:
imgmount D game.ins -t iso

This will disable the mounting of the CD which, in turn, will disable CD audio and play MIDI music.

3) Or download this custom built DOSBox.exe that fixes the CD audio volume control (as well as the looping of music) in BUILD engine games. Just replace the DOSBox.exe under the DOSBOX directory and you're good to go.

I personally use the custom built DOSBox.exe while not mounting the CD. The game has more MIDI music than CD audio tracks, so you will experience more music. In addition, I find the MIDI music to be more appropriate for gameplay.

I don't know if you helped the topic's creator, but you sure helped me. Thank you!
Have you tried adjusting the value for 'CDVolume' in the BLOOD.cfg file? It's set to max (255) by default.
