It's obvious the default controls for blood are terrible, and it's difficult to play. I'm sure many of you have your own custom setup your comfortable with, but for those who don't, here is the one I use and I would suggest it for beginners and then you can tweak it to your own liking.
W: move forward
S: move backward
A: strafe left
D: strafe right
UParrow: look up
DOWNarrow: look down
RIGHTarrow: look right
LEFTarrow: look left
F: special weapon fire
E: jump
Q: crouch / laydown
SHIFT: turnaround / flip
CTRL: fire
R: remote det.
P: prox det.
SPACE: use / action key

I think my head would explode playing with that setup.
This is usually how I play:

W: move forward
S: move backward
A: strafe left
D: strafe right
F: Use/Open doors
E: Next weapon (if not mouse wheel)
Q: Previous weapon (if not mouse wheel)
R: remote det.
P: prox det.
SPACE: jump
Left Click: Fire
Right click: Alternate fire

I left out the looking up and down because I think it's foolish to play without a mouse for looking around.

Clearly you have something that works for you, but if you don't use your mouse, you might try an alternative keyboard only setup that allows you to use more fingers. I played with the following configuration for years.

Left
A: Look up
S: Center
D: Look down
LShift: Strafe toggle
Z: Crouch
X: Jump
C: Fire
V: Alt-Fire
Space: Activate
LCtrl: MedKit

Right
RCtrl: Jump Boot toggle
RShift: Optional
UPArrow:Move forward
DOWNArrow: Move back
LArrow: Turn left
RArrow: Turn right
Number Pad: Weapon selection (you can reach, 0,1,2,3,4,5 with your pinky)
Whoa, DustyStyx, that looks harder (for me) than the OP's setup. Props to you if you actually play like that.

@OP, any reason why you don't like to use a mouse? Even though BMOUSE doesn't perfect it, it does help a lot.

hehe, I had to adapt once people started going over to keyboard+mouse. When Half-life came out and changed the default controller settings, I went from frag master to n00b bitch in about 3 weeks. Damn you Valve, damn you!!!
Well, I just recently found out that you could activate the mouse ( the 'U' key) for looking around instead of moving with it, but I'm so good with my current keyboard setup, that I prefer to just use that. (Also, I don't like how moving with the mouse feels kinda... robotic, im not really used to it)
