Hey all,

In Blood 1, my music volume is off the charts. When I try turning it down in game or in the config executable, nothing changes. I set it to 0 and it's still blaring. The sound, however, adjusts dynamically. Anyone know of how to fix this?

Thanks,
fop

Try the YKHWong SVN build of DOSBox.
Just rename the DOSBox folder in your Blood directory and extract the YKHWong build into a new DOSBox folder

There are at least 3 options:

Option 1:
1) go to your default installation folder (e.g. C:\Program Files (x86)\GalaxyClient\Games\Blood\)

2) open up dosboxBlood_single.conf (for Blood) and dosboxBlood_addon.conf (for Blood: Cryptic Passage) in edit mode (i.e. Notepad)

3) add one line after imgmount D "..\game.ins" -t iso and before c: like this:
imgmount D "..\game.ins" -t iso
mixer cdaudio 35:35
c:

CD Audio volume 35:35 for left & right speakers is enough for maxed Sound FX volume 255

NOTE: that you will not be able to adjust CD Audio volume

Option 2: - courtesy of this thread

1) download custom DOSBox 0.74 executable here

2) put & replace DOSBOX.exe file into ...\Blood\DOSBOX

3) remove mixer cdaudio 35:35 line from both .conf files

NOTE: you can actually adjust CD Audio volume from game's menu

and lastly Option 3:

1) download custom DOSBox SVN build, here

2) copy its contents into ...\Blood\DOSBOX again

3) hope for the best...

I personally tried first 2 options and they worked fine. Heard many good things about DOSBox SVN Daum (the same one mentioned by DustyStyx), it based on DOSBox-X and it added many interesting features like Internal 3dfx voodoo chip emulation. But the only thing I am really interested in is probably the Vertical Sync, many old DOS games have major issues with screen distortion, especially in FPS.
