Given the successful funding Brian Fargo secured for Wasteland 2, on Kickstarter. As a community do you think Blood fans could cough up $900K? Thoughts?

I would love to say yes but I'm not sure if we have enough people period. I think we'd have to look into getting help from other communities that would have interest in a Blood 3 too.
Doubt it to be honest.

Blood 2 wasnt as good as the 1st in many peoples eyes and I think the Blood Series should end here, Look at what happened to Postal III.

Not to mention I avoid kickstarter campaigns now since everyone and there wives have one for something which has lead to some scams like this

mutilatedmessiah, sure, there may be a scam kickstarter project on occasion. You certainly have to go with your own judgement of that sort of thing. But if you know the source and feel you can trust it.

I should have tacked on... if some of the original developers were fronting the project? Say Nick Newhard, Jace Hall, etc.

At a guess I would have thought that Blood was more popular than Wasteland, and thus able to get similar funding.
Getting the original devs on board would be a coupe. If that happens you'd get thousands of donations. Still not sure it would be enough but the ball would certainly be rolling.

I know Monolith's webpage states "BLOOD™ Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc.", but if you go and do a TM search at uspto.gov, you will find that the TM for Blood was canceled on October 24, 2009. I'd provide a link, but the search results are generated per person. If you search for the Registration Number: 2233394, you will find it.

Atari still has publishing rights to Blood & Blood II, else GoG.com wouldn't be able to sell it.

I'm confused about who actually owns the back story to Blood. Whether Monolith sold all rights to the Blood franchise to GT Interactive, which was the transferred through acquisition to Atari, or of Monolith held on to the background (similar to what happened with FEAR) which WB got when they bought Monolith back in 2004.

I use to worry about what might happen to Blood if WB got their hands on it, but the TV series "Supernatural" is pretty awesome, so it certainly could be done right.
Is Jace still with WB? He might be contractually bound concerning sponsorship any projects not under Warner.

He's been doing that Jace Hall Show for a while now. I'm not sure if it is bound in some way to Sony via Crackle.com or how that works.
-snipping long part that really makes no sense-

Even if we coughed up that much, the real question is: would anyone be able to make it a worthwhile game? (Blood 3). Nobody wants to play: DukeNukem:Forever (Blood edition).
