This is such a great game that I am willing to put upwith the regular client MFC crashes however, I am wondering if either my game is working incorrectly or if it is the manual that is incorrect.
I can only detonate remote bombs by firing at them whereas, the manual states that you can detonate them by pressing a button I don't seem to get that option
The manual also suggests that the night vision goggles and the flashlight have an infinite usage which does not appear to be the case. This is not a great problem and common in many fps games except that had I realised that it also applied to this game I would have been far more sparing with their usage.
When I first started to play pressing the tab gave me an objective window this no longer seems to work.
Unlike when I first started playing I am now running this with all application files in compatability xp mode visual themes and desktop composition disabled (this was given in a blog as way of preventing MFC crashes it didn't stop mine but they do seem more infrequent and the weapons shaking during higher resolutions seems to have stopped) I am using a mouse and keyboard configuration and running at 1280x768 in Vista 32

Also, like some others, I am finding this game very difficult on medium setting is there any way to change the difficulty level during play?

Any assistance would be appreciated

Thanks
Don

I'm not sure about some of your questions, but I found that the button to detonate the bombs is not assigned by default. You can go to Options and Controls to assign it to a key.

The goggle and flashlight do not have an infinite usage in my game.

I am using Vista 32 and if I play in 1024x768 then I don't get any MFC crashes at all during gameplay, only when I quit the game.

Hope this helps.
I think the only way to change difficulty is to start a new game, unfortunately. Unless you wanted to give yourself a handicap with some decent cheats (all weapons, more ammo, etc.)

Hit ~ and type "maxfps 30"
When you get tired of typing that every 20 seconds, put it in your Autoexec.cfg file and make it read only.
