Hi. I would like to thoroughly explore each level so I can find all the secrets in them without monsters getting in my way. I know from a help file (BLOODHLP.txt) included in the download that the command line parameter "-nodudes" turns off monsters, I just don't know where to put it. I tried putting it after "blood.exe" in the auto-exec section of dosboxBlood.conf then running the game normally, but nothing had changed.

I know that some levels are impossible to complete normally without monsters, but I can "eva galli" my way through any impasse, so I'm not worried about that.

DustyStyx: It should be "Blood.exe -nodudes", but that is broken in 1.21. The best you can do is godmode it.
Okay, thanks.
I have recently found this command playing blood and foudn the only way to get it to work is to load in a level already.
Basically you want to launch

Blood -nodudes [mapnumber]

where [mapnumber] is something like e1m1 or bb1 (note: when launching a regular map there will be no music because it is launching that map as THAT map without referring to the INI for map data). After that you can use new game or a level warp cheat to play any level with no monsters to hamper your progress. I find it really fun to appreciate the level design and architecture without worrying about baddies.

(Also I apologize for the necro-post but I just found this looking through topics and found that I have an answer that I just discovered recently)
