Okay, so for some reason I can't get Blood to run on my system. I downloaded it this afternoon, and installed it without a problem. But every time I try to run the game, it shows the initial loading screen (the one with the red/yellow border at the top and bottom), and then drops back to my desktop. I'm using a GeForce 8600 graphics card, a Core 2 Duo processor @ 3ghz, and Windows XP Pro Service Pack 3. I know most of this is immaterial, but I thought I'd get it all out of the way.

Would be helpful if you could state exactly what is the last thing displayed on the black screen, or perhaps an error message.
Might be a trivial question, but you /are/ using DosBox to play it, right?

You can also try running it as computer admin, that may clear it up.

Yes, I'm using DosBox. I'm using the exact setup that GOG provides. There is no error message, it just goes black after the loading screen and dumps me back to the desktop.

How exactly would I go about doing that?

Go to your start menu, and find blood in the gog.com folder. Then right click the graphics mode setup and click run as administrator. Try some of the different settings in there to see if that gets it running.

I already have access to it (I'm the admin of my computer), and none of the settings seem to work.
Might be a dumb question - but did you configure your sound card / music in Blood's setup? I remember sometimes if you don't set your sound card properly the game won't load past the sound initiation resulting in dropping you back to the dos prompt (or in this case closing the application)

I think I configured it correctly. Could you tell me what the settings are that I need?
EDIT: Never mind. It turns out the problem was that I installed it to the D drive partition rather than the game's default (C:). It works flawlessly now. And Hopefully you'll be happy with the fact that I credited you for solving the problem.

Don't mention it. :D
Hi, I the same problem as TrIp13G, but only with the Cryptic Passage launcher in Start menu. With One Unit Whole Blood (Blood + Plasma Pack) isn´t any problem, I´ve already finish it. When I launch Cryptic passage icon, it shows the black initial loading screen & after that it falls down to my desktop.
Don´t you know, where may be the problem??
Thank you very much.

P.S.: I have Celeron 3 Ghz, 1 Gb Ram, Windows XP.
