Hey all,

I recently finished (and loved) the first 4 episodes of Blood, but I'm having a tough time getting the Cryptic Passage expansion to cooperate. Here's the error message that I'm receiving:

"This app can't run on your PC - to find a version for your PC, check with the software publisher."

I'm on Windows 10, had no trouble running the original game in DOSBox, and have tried the suggestions in previous threads (checking user permissions, allowing "Full Control" in the Security tab of properties, installing outside of Program Files....). I'm really not sure what my next move should be... any suggestions?

Thanks in advance for any help!

Jeff

How are you trying to start it? The easiest way should be to start it using the shortcut the GOG installer creates alongside the other Blood shortcuts in the start menu folder "One Unit Whole Blood [GOG.com]". For me that starts Cryptic Passage in DOSBox just like it does with the "normal" Blood. You can't just run the cryptic.exe, as that is a DOS application like blood.exe, you need to run it through DOSBox.

Another way would be to play it using BloodGDX. BloodGDX plays all episodes from the same menu.

On that note, despite Cryptic Passage starting up fine on my computer, the mouse doesn't work at all. It might have to do with my using bmouse.exe on Blood, but I haven't delved deeper into the issue.
