I just fired up the newly released Blood Fresh Supply, and it pushes temps considerably higher than I would expect for a game like this.

So far, switching to Vulkan seems to alleviate it somewhat, but surely it shouldn't be pushing my system this hard?

Sounds like you're playing with VSync of and framerates uncapped. Your GPU load is high because it's rendering thousands of frames per second. The OpenGL renderer (and I guess the Vulkan one too? it crashes for me so I can't test it) has higher overhead so it just doesn't push as many frames.

I was playing with framrates uncapped and vsync off, gimme a sec and I'll test again!
