Hello all. I just got this one to play listening to the original music but i cant see the intro videos. i mean the GTi and the Monolith intros. is there something i should do? i'm not even sure if i am supposed to be able to see them.
thanks anyway
There are a few problems that could be causing this issue.
The easiest solution would be to try switching between the graphic modes through the "Graphic mode setup" link in your "One Unit Whole Blood" start-up menu.
If it still won't play after you've tried all the graphic modes, be sure to check if you have the "game.gog" file within your Blood installation folder. This is basically an ISO file that contains the movie files.
If it still wont play, check that the movie path within your Blood.ini file matches up with the drive letter and path DOSBox mounts your game.gog file to.

well i tried all different video modes but still nothing. I forgot to say that the cutscenes play just fine with sound. also the gog file is there and i can listen to the ogg music files.
the ini file on the other hand is just fine but the logo.smk, gti.smk and monolith.avi are not listed.
any other suggestions?
I see what you mean now.
When you launch the game, neither the Monolith Productions, nor the GT Interactive intro clips play, but when you launch and end an episode, the cut scenes play just fine. I'm sorry, I misunderstood.
Actually, I'm having this same issue. I know that the old shareware CD has SMK files named LOGO and GTI that are played when the shareware version launches, however when I tried copying these into the GoG distribution, it still didn't play. I've not had a chance to check if the full CD version of Blood has the SMK files or not.
I don't think this is an issue with DOSBox however. When I tried launching the GoG distro of Blood nativity on XP, it still didn't play the Monolith/GT intro clips. I can't remember for certain, but I think it might be that Monolith took it out for some reason for 1.21 (vs patched 1.11)

I've been playing around with this a bit.
It looks like Monolith did disabled the intro screens for 1.21, in effect running Blood with the -quick command-line option. This is probably why GoG didn't include the GTI.SMK and LOGO.SMK files with the release.
I tried installing and running Blood 1.21 from CD natively on XP, and the intro logo videos wont play; yet they will if you copy the two SMK files into a Blood 1.11 shareware installation.
