redeem4: For a game so awesome, this game seems really short and kinda leaves me wanting more...unless there were more chapters or something I didn't see. It actually seems a lot shorter than games like Duke 3D or even Doom that came before it.
Gonna go try out the sequel finally and see how that is...I heard its kinda mixed/bad. I wonder if there will ever be a 3rd game...
Blood 1 with Plasma Pak has 38 levels
Duke 3D Atomic edition has 40 and what extends that number are two secrets levels in episode 2 and 3 which were questionable in terms of quality (poor attempts of single play in deathmatch circle layout). So without counting these inferiors there are 38 (DM filler maps available to play through regular single play as secret levs aren't worth listing as proper sp levels).
Now for the expansions, the only true made to be official legitimate expansion made by other company is just Duke it out DC (Carribean, Nuclear Winter and others doesn't count). That's 9 levs.
For the Cryptic Passage that's 9 levels.
Blood 2 has 33 levels, with Nightmare Levels expansion it's made to 39 levels, so it's somewhere like Blood1+Plasma Pak, additional level is battle with Ancient One (well it's kind of gauntlet, first you fight with Gideon at the end of episode 3, then kill him again in spider form in chapter 4, after that 3 undead chosen, and then ancient one).
Second game is not bad or good, just aged more because of 3D and Lithtech. Also story is about future Cabal ruling the world dystopia as Cabalco, so beings from other dimension and sci-fi comes to level progress.
The only from Blood1 addons I would recommend between Blood 1 and 2 or instead is Death Wish addon by Bloatoid.
