This release of Blood Bowl Chaos Edition appears to have numerous bugs. The game ignores all time settings except 40 second turns. A number of mouse icons are also missing from the build for some reason. LAN play is no longer present, which I suspect was patched out. I have confirmed that none of these issues exist on the Steam release of Blood Bowl Chaos Edition, which is Version 3.0.2.2. GOG's version number is 3.2.0.0.

Has anyone else experienced the game locking all modes into 40 second turns?

I've been going out of my mind with the LAN play. It is still "technically" there as I extensively was looking in the XML files code and editing them where applicable to try and get it to appear. Even to the point of playing a legit single-player game as well as logging into my online account on the laptop that I was testing it on. The amount of code I looked in with the term "LAN" in the "Fnd" option of the Notepad and Notepad++ made me lose it. And I'm coding illiterate!

Hi,

Yep.I also have those bugs. Some mouse icons(such us blitz icon, number of dices you will use,or the icon of the ball whn you are kicking at the start of the game) are missing and also the turn limit(only 40s per turn) is always the same. Does not matter if I change it,it is still the same.

I have also observed the missing icons in the GOG release. I am going to try an experiment to see if it is the data files or the EXE that is the problem. As it stands, the GOG release is fairly broken.
I copied the data files from the Steam Version into the GOG version directory. This restored LAN multiplayer functions. However, the 40 second turn bug is still present. The data files still have all of the time options correct between the releases, so the time bug must be something broken in the EXE. The game requires a patch to fix this release.
Somewhat glad to see I'm not the only one experiencing the 40 second bug. I was looking all over trying to figure out if I was just missing something.

Is there any chance that this will get fixed? This is a pretty old game.

I'd really like to learn to play it, but 40 seconds is just not fun for a new player.

Whatever was broken happened between the last Steam release and the GOG release. The Steam version runs just fine. Unless someone has submitted a support ticket and GOG has responded with something beyond a form letter, I would either hold out a bit or ask for a refund. Normally, GOG gets broken releases fixed rather fast. I remember an old DOS game that had files missing, which was patched in a few days.
I'm glad to hear that the timer thing is a bug, cause it seems impossible to learn how to play when you have to make a decision in such a short time and you don't know what you are supposed to do.

Also, I've only used the teams that appear in the tutorial, but it seems the human players appear almost out of frame in the portrait when you select a player. I don't know if that's a bug too.

FalloutDefault: it seems impossible to learn how to play
If you haven't played Blood Bowl before, then I recommend starting with Blood Bowl 2, as it has a better interface even ignoring the bugs in this release.

I hope they will fix these bugs fast. Until then, I will be playing Steam version Legendary/Chaos edition.
I was an idiot and created another thread about the timer issue before seeing this one, sorry, but yes I'm also having the same issue. If it isn't fixed I'll be force to return the game. There's just no way I can perform a turn in that amount of time.

As to the person that was able to fix the LAN game, any chance you could tell us how to do it exactly? I have the Steam version but have no idea on what should be copied over. Thanks!

I just copied all of the files, minus the EXE and the steam-specific files, from the steam install directory to the GOG install directory. I make no guarantees that you won't encounter any unexpected weirdness. Also, as I said, the 40-second turn bug is still present so you will have to be fairly quick with your plays and expect constant turnovers due to time.
Got the following response for my ticket about the timer issues.

"Yes, as far as we know, for each custom match you will have to input your own custom settings. Overall, I'm afraid that you are referring to gameplay elements. For question regarding gameplay, I can only recommend you to reach the game's support team, as only they can approach such topics in detail:
https://support.cyanide-studio.com/

I'm sorry for the inconvenience."

Looks like it's refund time.
Same Problem here. Timer is only 40 sec. and mouse cursor is bugged in game.
I realy like the game. But with these bugs its unplayable for me.
Just chiming in to say I've been plagued with the same issue. I don't know who to email about it but I tried emailing support over at Focus Home. Does anyone else want to try reaching out to the developer/publisher/gog or whoever? It seems like there are plenty of people that want to play this game.

I've tried looking around in the XML files and altering/adding commands but no luck. If anyone finds a fix post back and I'll do the same!
