Sometimes I like to play with the background music off and I noticed apart from one bird that tweets every few minutes there's no other background/environment sounds. There's just no immersion or ambience.

I was wondering if I 'd be able to just download a generic 'outdoor' or maybe a warzone type YouTube video and replace the sound file I need with an mp3 or whatever file it is

Theoretically it should be possible you just need to find the right file you want to replace. As a hint I would give your own file the same name as the actuly game data is because the game could be confused what new file this.
