I've looked in the discussions for some info on this and unfortunately only found some dead links. Does anyone have a source (web page, for instance) regarding setting up for multiplayer? I would be most grateful for any leads.

Well I don't know any pages for BK one but if u search BK players this page is sure a good address to start:

When you like to play BK two then look in steam for the universal mod-17 group for Bk two...we are arround 200 members maybe you will find someone there.

Is multiplayer as you mention it Steam dependent? That is, is it a requirement that you're using the steam version of BK2 vs the GOG version?

Well you are the first I know who is using the GOG version but I don't think that it should be a great issuse to play with the others. The only problem could be to install a mod on the GOG version if you are intresset of playing mods (actually I am a former mod developer but now I run out of time^^'). When you are looking for more informations than write me private message so I can give you my skype nickname to bring you closer to our community. We have also some american players to get more informations about the mod you can watch some videos from Toxic Tank on youTube about Bk 2 Fall of the Reich.
